This time, I'm the person being interviewed. I think I came off a bit as too cocky. I hope that they weren't too offended. There were two people being interviewed in the same room, with two panels of interviewers at opposite sides. Mine was a gentle looking guy flanked by two fierce looking girls by his side. I didn't notice what the other panel of "judges"( they certainly seem so) look like but that person has a loud and demanding voice. So much so that it distracted me from listening to whatever my interviewer was saying. My friend was sitting behind me being interviewed by that commando-tone person. Surprisingly, she said that she kept being distracted by MY voice. Lol!
That guy was quite friendly, speaking to me in a non-commanding tone ( unlike the other...). But the two girls beside him creep me out a tad bit. All they do is stare at you occasionally and scribble away ferociously at their blank piece of paper. I did peek at their writings when that guy is flipping his papers. Couldn't get a thing, except that it looked like a list. Hmm.
Their rules seem quite strict, but I wonder if they will really carry it out. They asked if I disobeyed any of the rules, was I willing to take any form of punishment? Well. I actually said that it depends. And agreed that I would dance on the streets if I was late. Not. They asked some pretty weird questions indeed, something like if you get chosen, how will you change and sort. But if I haven't even experienced it, how would I know? hmmm. Just answered what I HOPE to change. That's why I said that I probably came off as a bit too arrogant.
I do realise that I have problems when asked to give opinions or spontaneuosly give a speech. My words get jumbled up, repetitive words continuosly surface and I don't get to my point. I need more practice for that! It's not easy to convey a point straight from your head without any preparation. The listener will have to do some organizing of their own to actually understand my main points.
Next sem, public speaking. hope I won't jumble up then!

Agitation.
Opinions should be formed only when you have a solid research to back it. If not, a thorough analyze without any biasness or influence from any other source with a rational mind can also contribute to a solid, constructive opinion.
It probably is due to my own biasness, that when I see certain comments or articles online I get very frustrated.
Why are there such polarised comments made that so obviously portrays the ignorance of the author? You may say that I myself am influenced by my views but some things they say are seriously over the line and illogical. They criticise, they swear, they spread out lies that are based on lies that they saw somewhere, not even bothering to go and check out the truth. People are so manipulated by their emotions that once they get heated up, nothing else said will enter their head anymore. Rational thinking is thrown out of the window.
Yes, maybe my sources are wrong too? Maybe they're sources are right?
But that is no excuse to utter such ignorant, shallow and misleading comments. Everywhere in the net.
I think debating should be taught in schools. Not colleges, but schools. It teaches people, as it taught me to properly do research before saying anything or forming any points. No solid backing will result only result in humiliation as you are silenced by your opponent.
We should see everything from more then one perspective to gain insight into matters. No sole source can be trusted now, not even yourself. And THAT, is proved by my psychology textbook.

Pursuit, of, what?
Not exactly sure, actually. Pursuit of what I want, or what I need? There are a lot of things that I yearn for in this world, and these tend to blind me temporarily to the things that I already have, or to the determination to remain myself, truly myself all the way through. It took a short flip through a children's story book to remind myself of that promise I was suppose to fulfil. Everybody is different, and it is because of that we are unique and special. Don't get carried away by the perfections of others and the unending flaws of your own, otherwise life will be a continuous torture of dissatisfactions. Only compare with yourselves, that is one lesson I learnt since long ago, but still find it hard to keep. It's habit, a ritual for me to keep wanting to attain something that others shine for and I lack.
But there are some things in this world that you need and you may not want. It can also be the case whereby you think you do not want it, but honestly deep down in your heart there is a yearning for it. You will never show that on the surface, most probably covered by your low self- confidence and incompetence. Because I cannot do well on it, because I THINK I cannot live up to those expectations, thus I will say that No, I'm not interested in that. I don't want it, but I need it so I'm forced to do it. Is that really what you think? Or does the reason stem from the fact that you just can't excel in it like others do, so to save the humiliation both to others and yourself, you choose to cover the fact? It hurts, to know your own faults.
We've got to live with it everyday. I'm trying to achieve the state of mind whereby I won't bend under peer pressure and I won't even give a cent about what others think. Be truthful to yourself, that's the best cure for depression and uncertainty. I clearly remember one day in 2010 when my friend suddenly told me:" Why can't you be honest to yourself?" Such a simple phrase, honesty, yet sometimes the hardest thing to do. However ugly and raw the truth, I will try my best to face it head on.
Disney's byline of Just be yourself certainly has its values, huh? Probably I was too young to realise it back then.

Interruption
I'm getting addicted to being alone every morning from eight to ten. When the library starts to fill with people, I get frustrated, I get annoyed, I start to hate those people who are babbling away, who are laughing, who are sitting beside me. It feels somehow as if my personal space has been intruded upon, my only time of solace in a whole day robbed of me. I may sound like an antisocial loser, but I do believe that everyone needs their alone time in a day. Its a time for you to comtemplate your doings, balance your emotions and search for inner-peace. More realistically, it's a time for me to finish all my work. But how can I do it with so much noise around? Especially in the computer lab, where people talk aloud with no reservations. It's an isolated room, so the sounds from each direction echoes and serves to frazzle my nerves more. I had better get out of here before I start hitting someone.
I'm not denying the fact that I probably am worried what others may think of me, alone, reading in the library. Peer pressure? It seems sad to be found alone, as majority of people think. I still get bugged by that feeling ocassionally, as I do spent about two hours alone everyday. But that feeling is mainly ignored. It is my aim to achieve the mental state of mind whereby I don't care what others think. Till then, I will continue with this routine of mine that does wonders to my life ( work done! :D). If I ever achieve that day, then I will wear my long striped socks to school. HAH.

Awkward
Why do libraries need such low temperatures?
Is there some scientific reason behind it or they just want to seem cool(get it? COOL? sorry. lame one.)?
I'm awkward. I get awkward when talking to people, especially people i don't know. I get awkward all the time except when i'm in an ecstatic mood, which happens only about once a month( it must be the hormones. Blame it on them.)Awkward silences, awkward movements, awkward attire, awkward laugh? They say awkwardness is a sign of lack of confidence. Well, I admit i haven't got a barrel full of confidence but there's still not a small amount of that in me. Most probably I live in my coccoon too much, so coming out seems like thrusting a deer in headlights. Confused, lost and terrifying. But then again,my coccoon is pretty loosely weaved. I am still very much exposed to the world. Maybe it is my naivety that contributes to my awkwardness? Being too afraid to touch a nerve of others.
Solution? Join people who are not awkward. But find some who ARE so too, so we can be awkward together. The tribe of awkwarders.

Interviews
I just went through the first interview of my life. As a first-time rookie reporter playing the interviewer, I wasn't even terrified or nervous before that. Maybe it was because of fatigue or overconfidence, I didn't even think about the possibilities of awkward silences occurring.
Resulting in, the exact thing happening.
It wasn't our fault, really. Me and my partner, we were both trying our best to chat her up, coming out with questions spontaneously out of the list. Maybe because our questions were cliche and mundane so she didn't pay much attention to us, or that she is too much preoccupied over her work. I could see that she was a busy person, with calls on hold for her all the time and appointments at every hour.
Well, fortunately we did get all that we wanted, although the answers were quite standard. I think that would be predictable to avoid getting into trouble. Better be safe then sorry, especially around two freshies who are naive. I was disappointed, truth to say. I was expecting someone more charismatic, someone with the artistic flair and passion while speaking. Of course, this is an impossible wish as high0profile people are busy every second. But at least, someone who will give answers that are unpredictable and bring revelation? Or it was just our questions that were lame.
I did learn new things and gained experiences for interviews of the future.
1. Dare to speak out, ask questions. Otherwise you won't get what you want.
2. Clarify everything that you are going to do to avoid misunderstandings.
3. Learn how to express opinions and questions so as to not waste time.
4. Learn how to communicate, make small talk so that the atmosphere wouldn't be too rigid.
5. Prepare beforehand list off questions, extra ones that can be used in the case of too much extra time.
6.once again, be outspoken. That is what a good journalist requires.

Yay!
"Bii Biip"
That's the sound the little machine aboard RapidKL emits when it scans a Touch n go card. There's something about travelling in public transport that makes me feel independent and cool. Walking amidst the daily commuters with their touch n go cards hung on their necks by a tag, clear and confident of where you're going. I feel a sense of pride when I help others to operate the ticket buying machine or direct the road. It makes me feel as in I am in some sort of unofficial society of daily commuters who rely on public transport to get on with their everyday lives. In the buzz and chaos at the stations everyday, to be not intimidated by it and instead be used to it, navigating through the crowds confidently brings this twisted sense of accomplishment.
Well. Sorry. It's not that I take the public transport often so give me a chance to be fanatic about it? LOL
